Full Time HIT/EMR Technician

PMSI is multispecialty, physician owned organization in Pottstown Pennsylvania, with full implementation of EMR. We are currently looking for a full time HIT/EMR technician to join our organization. Experience in EMR is preferred. Salary is negotiable with experience level. The position reports directly to our CIO.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Provide support to the EMR Applications department.
Participate in the revision of the Ambulatory Strategic Plan on an annual basis ensuring its coherence with the overall health system strategic plan
Work with practice administration, Faculty practice physicians, and allied staff to assess and respond to IT needs
Support the ongoing operations of the EMR Team providing quality and timely support to health system employees concerning hardware and software needs
Serve on planning and policy-making committees.
Assure the infrastructure will permit a meaningful end user experience.
Help identify emerging information technologies to be assimilated, integrated, and introduced within the infrastructure.
Ensure that the ambulatory clients stay current and competitive with respect to IT infrastructure & services
Assist in the development, design, and implementation of new applications and changes to existing computer systems and software packages.
Ensure the continual functioning of mission critical systems
Maintain security and privacy of the information systems

Qualification requirements:

SQL server administration
VMware Vshpere 5
Terminal Services administration
Windows 2003 and 2008
Linux Redhat and Ubuntu
VPN configuration and troubleshooting using Cisco ASA
Cisco Routers and switches
EMC VNX configuration
Working knowledge of HL7 protocol
Desktop support of both thin clients and PC
