A MESSAGE FROM OUR CEO
We hear it all the time, “do it for the environment”,
and “do it for your children and their children”.
That
being said, it isn’t easy. We have to give things up, change our daily routines
and in general, upset the balance in our lives. Consider this: Americans
consume 50 billion bottles of water each year. 30 billion are being sent to
landfills on a daily basis. 60 million are thrown in the trash. According to
Greenpeace, 1 million birds and 100,000 marine mammals are estimated to perish
each year by either eating or becoming trapped in plastic waste.
In
response, PMSI eliminated plastic water bottles and returned to filtered tap
water.
On
to the next issue...coffee cups. Styrofoam takes up 25.30% of the space in landfills.
In response, we are issuing each employee a coffee mug. We will no longer
purchase disposable coffee cups. Hopefully, this act will encourage others to
follow.
So there you have our first two “Go
Green” initiatives. One is in place, the other starts now. The third is up to
you! I am asking you to come up with your best “Go Green” idea. If we decide
to use your idea you will receive a $100 gas card from Wawa. Then we will roll
out the idea with your name attached. So give it some thought, do some
research, heck-steal an idea from another company and submit it today.
PMSI
takes healthcare and the environment seriously.

EMR update! We are
very proud to announce that the 1591 office is working on the last specialty to
be implemented. The GI department will begin training for their go-live at the
end of September. Next up- the orthopedic office and then we are finished with
the initial roll out. All offices utilizing EMR are now using order and charge
as well. The next project for EMR will be the installation of the upgrade
version of Touchworks-Version 11. This roll-out is considered another
implementation phase. V11 promises to be extremely user friendly, with added
features that make the navigation of the product more efficient. The folks at
Allscripts continue to be impressed with PMSI’s roll-out process. We could not
have accomplished this without all of you!

PMSI welcomes a new manager to the GI department at 1591. Jan
Kessler RN joins our management staff. Jan comes to PMSI with many years of
managerial experience. You can reach her at 610-326-8005. AIM – janpmsi
